a five-generation chair

Miss Lois received this as a late birthday present from her aunt (my Offspring #3). This was made by Miss Lois's great-great grandfather for his little girl Lois, who just so happens to be Miss Lois's great-great aunt.

It is hard to see from this angle, but each side of the chair is a cutout of a cat.

Great-great grandfather made it for great-great aunt; grandmother played with it; grandmother's daughter had it for twenty-plus years in her room; now she gives it to her niece, Miss Lois. A five generation connection.
