surgery

I have twelve days to go before a co-worker returns to work after an operation. Earlier this week she had breast reduction surgery. We’re friends, but what can a guy say to a woman after such a procedure without possibly getting into trouble?

Much like with any surgery in delicate areas...you might say

"How are you recovering from the procedure?"

or

"Is your recovery progressing well?"

Its not like asking how your knee feels after knee surgery...but it lets them know that you care without you asking the question in a very off balance way.
